The United States Handball Association and World Handball Council eagerly announce a World Handball Invitational will be held with the 72nd USHA National Four-Wall Championships at the University of Minnesota’s Recreation and Wellness Center, May 25-29, 2023.
With the 2021 World Handball Championships postponed, this World Invitational provides a unique opportunity for international competition at the site of the last World Handball Championships in 2018. The Invitational will be combined with Men’s and Women’s Open Singles and Doubles divisions of the USHA National Four-Wall Championships. The Wallball event will offer Men’s and Women’s Open Singles and Doubles divisions to be held at nearby Clayland Park’s two regulation one-wall handball courts.
“As president of the World Handball Council, I’m delighted that the USHA have thought outside the box to whet the appetite of handball people by staging an invitational world championship,” said WHC President, Dessie Keegan. “This will bring energy and excitement back into international handball, and this will set the stage for a full Irish World Championships in 2024.”
The Worlds Invitational presents a wonderful opportunity to be a part of international handball! Players from all countries are invited to participate in the Four-Wall and Wallball Open events. Reserve seating will be available for four-wall matches, and spectators are welcome for all matches.
