Welcome to the United States Handball Association

Duties of Members of the USHA Board of Directors

s Uphold USHA Articles of Incorporation and help formulate policy and directives for association’s promotion and well being.

s Regional Board Members Represent and are primarily responsible to the USHA mem- bers in the region, while At-Large Board Members represent and are responsible to the entire USHA membership.

s Attend USHA’s semi-annual Board meetings and represent constituency to the best of ability.

s Help maintain the sanctioning integrity of tournaments.

s Maintain communications with the state chairmen in the region, the Regional com- missioner and USHA headquarters.

s Attend as many tournaments as possible within the region and help promote mem- bership and various USHA fundraising projects at the grassroots level.

s Promote USHA membership by following up on expired members and promoting new memberships.

s Recruit at least five new members each year.

s Promote USHA rules, including mandatory eye protection, and non-conflicting sponsors at USHA sanctioned events.

s Keep the expressed confidential proceedings of the board confidential.

s Keep an open mind, listen to all discussion and become fully aware on an issue before voting.

s Allow the staff to function under the authority of the Executive Director.

s Speak on behalf of the association and its Board of Directors only when authorized to do so.

s Refrain from voting on any issue that can financially benefit you.

s Attend one-half day orientation for new members.
