SIMPLE GREEN / USHA San Francisco Pro Stop Results

Visit Our Sponsor Simple Green

San Francisco Olympic Club - Protstop #4
March 10-12, 2000 San Francisco, California

The third time Vince Munoz met David Chapman in a Simple Green Pro final proved the charm in San Francisco on Sunday. Munoz relied on a furious pace and a two-handed attack to pin the first pro loss on Chapman since last spring.

Again, it looked as if conditioning was Chapman's downfall though he had looked extremely sharp in wins over the brothers Silveyra on Saturday. Unable to keep up Munozí blasts, Chapman made uncharacteristic hand errors en route to the two-game loss.

In other action, locals Norm Dunne and James Komsthoeft plenty to cheer about all weekend, including Sunday. Norm regrouped after a very tough Saturday to push David Silveyra to a tiebreaker in the battle for third place while Komsthoeft rallied to force a tiebreaker against Anton Wilson in the consolation final. It had been a busy week for Komsthoeft, who had literally sold the seats to fill this slot on the pro season and his wife Amy is just two weeks away from the due day of their first born. Then, if that werenít enough, James refereed seven pro matches.
