Chapman Starts the Season with a Win

David Chapman controlled the play on Sunday to win the first pro stop of the season, starting off right where he left off last June. In the final, Chapman never let the aggressive Vince Munoz get untracked in the first game, winning 21-4 and then kept the shooter at bay in the second for a 21-16 win.

Sal SantaAna also rallied in the consolation final from a 14-7 (15-point games) deficit in the second game to win 15-14, and then the tiebreaker, 11-5. Chris Tico traveled from San Francisco to win the Greater Milwaukee Open singles title. And in the first ever meeting of national three-wall and national four-wall golden singles champions, local Ernie Virgili rallied to defeat Vance McInnis in three games. Ernie was down 18-13 in the second after McInnis had already won the first before coming on strong.
