USHA's Certified One-Wall Referees

In our effort to upgrade the officiating in handball, the USHA now offers five levels of certification for referees.

  • Level One: Pass written certification exam or attend a referee's clinic conducted by a level 5 referee.

  • Level Two: Pass written certification exam and attend a referee's clinic conducted by a level 5 referee.

  • Level Three: Pass exam, attend clinic, and receive positive observation report by a qualified official (level 4 or 5).

  • Level Four: Pass exam, attend clinic, and receive positive observation report by a qualified official (level 4 or 5) while officiating open play.

  • Level Five: This level of certification is reserved for level 4 officials who are also qualified to conduct referees certification clinics.

  • For Members Only ...

    With the bulging numbers of certified referees, thanks to a number of referees clinics over the summer, the decision has been made to list only the USHA members in the magazine. We still have the non-members on file. So, if you don't see your name all you need to do is send in your membership and ask to be reinstated.

  • Referee's Badges

    We're proud of you for taking the time to achieve your level of certification and want to aknowledge you at the tournaments. We'll have badges for all those who have gained certification. We hope you'll wear your badge proudly. Badges cost $1 each for new referees or replacements. Send $1 to the USHA, 2333 N. Tucson Blvd., Tucson, AZ, 85716.
