This message board is for the entire handball community. With this in mind reasonable community standards will be upheld. Any user of this message board and any of its forums can be banned from the board at the board administrator’s discretion or by suggestion from individual forum moderators.
Basically, the main rule is “keep it clean.”
Profanity. We have filters in place to block profanity, but anyone trying to skirt around the filters with special spellings will be advised to keep their posts clean at the risk of being banned. From past experience we understand that filters are necessary evil. You may notice some of your legitimate posts are tweaked by a filter. Unfortunately, we have to keep these sometimes overzealous filters in place to maintain the USHA community standard.
HTML. There are filters in place to block any html, including links and even the font tags available to you in your posting window. The message board is strictly for discussing handball. If you feel members of the USHA would benefit from a certain link, please email the USHA and we'll put it up on our special links page.
Pictures. Along with blocking html, there are no picture posts allowed on the board. This is a place for the exchange of ideas and information. If you have a great handball picture and want to share with the membership, please email the USHA and we'll put it up in our photo gallery.
Malicious posts. Typical back and forth on handball issues is expected and encouraged. But, please discuss the issues in a mannerly way that keeps the best interest of all participants in mind. Differing of opinion is fine, but please agree to disagree. Stick to topics at hand. No personal attacks, no vendettas and no detrimental venting. Approach handball discussion with the goal of finding mutual understanding and respect.
Accountability. If you're participating on the USHA message board, your identity will be known by everybody on the board. We have controls in place to keep you from changing your contact information and posting anonymously. This keeps message board abusers from posting inappropriate material without accountability.
Stay on topic. Make sure you are posting your message in the right forum. Make sure that you qualify to post in the forums reserved for specific individuals (i.e. juniors, collegians, women). And make sure your posts fit in with the topics being discussed. Otherwise, start a new topic. Keeping threads focused helps maintain the usefulness and user-friendliness of the board. We reserve the right to delete any posts that veer off topic.
Have fun. We really do want this board to be a vital place for lively handball discussion. Post away.Silent Auction!
