Three-Wall Juniors treated to a great weekend in Cincinnati

anthony_and_lorenThe 2012 USHA National Junior Three-Wall Championships, hosted by the GCHA, were a great three days of fun.   Johnny Walker hosted the players to summer fun with zip line rides over his pond and a cookout on Sunday.

Anthonly Collado, 17, decided to step up to the 19s for the better competition and came out on top of a wide-open field that saw a three-way tie for second.  Anthony Collado  (ready to pounce on his older brother Loren's return) beat his older brother for the "first time in a long time," said both after the conclusion.  Anthony had spent a week at Mike Dau's camp, played at LaGrange last weekend and was ready to play his best.  Anthony has a chance to go undefeated while Matthew Chu lost one on Sat.  It's been very competitive from the first match in the 19s.

Proof of the competitiveness, Hector Facio and Alex Ibarra combined to defeat the Collado brothers in a final tiebreaker, 11-5.

Nathaniel Frank has been playing a lot of ball and lifting and it shows on and off the court.  Nathaniel overpowered the competition in the 17s, including Brittyn Bidegain, who has only lost to Frank.

Chandler Straw kept the 15 title in Cincinnati while James Teuber took the 13 title back to Evanston.
