FRIDLEY,
Minn. - Fiona Shannon's last trip to the USHA Women's Open finals came in East Lansing, Michigan in 2003. Since then, Shannon has captured three World Championships and countless titles in Ireland. This year marked Shannon's first USHA title as she defeated Maria Daly in an All-Irish final, 21-8, 21-4.
"I just played my game and didn't think about how my opponents would play." Shannon said of her dominant performance. Shannon completed the slam with partner Sibeal Gallagher over Daly and Deirdre Donohoe 21-7, 21-13.
In the Men's Doubles, Sean Lenning and Armando Ortiz defeated David Chapman and Emmett Peixoto in two games, 21-16, 21-17.

Special thanks to Minnesota State Handball Association, Life Time Fitness Club and Staff, WPH and all who made the event a success.
FRIDLEY, Minn. -Sean Lenning's first 4-wall National Singles title seemed within reach as he pounded David Chapman for an early 17-9 first game lead. In a remarkable turn-around, Chapman stole the first game 21-20 and won the title, 21-20, 21-13. (Click READ MORE). Chapman remained unfazed by the huge first-game deficit, continuously chipping away at the lead to apply pressure on Lenning to close. Every rally from Lenning was answered with a momentum killing shot from Chapman which carried him to his ninth singles title. Chapman's last title came in 2004 in Portland, Ore.
