2009 1-Wall Big Ball Nat's PDF Print E-mail
bb2009
Doubles Champions Ray Lopez (far left) and Pee Wee Castro (2nd from right) move in on a shot by Willie Polanco in the Men's Pro Doubles final.  Lopez and Castro spoiled Polanco and Steve Robalino's repeat bid with a 25-20 victory.

BROOKLYN - By jumping out to a big lead early, John "Rookie" Wright won his second USHA One-Wall Big Ball Men's Pro title over Pee Wee Castro 25-7.

Castro didn't get going early on, and Wright took full advantage.

"Everyone noticed Pee Wee's serve this week, but I have a pretty good serve, too." Wright said.

Castro's day wasn't completely spoiled as he and partner Ray Lopez won the Men's Pro Doubles over William Polanco and Steve Robalino 25-20.

Karen McConney took the Women's Pro Singles with an impressive win over Brenda Pares-Dubose, 25-18.  McConney slammed in the doubles with partner Adrian Floyd.  The champs won convincingly over Maggie Crespo and Anastasiya Oleynik, 25-7.
