BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Cesar Sala ended Satish Jagnandan’s reign at four years in the National One-Wall singles, holding off furious charges at the end of both games for the title, 20, 10. Sala rallied to force a tiebreaker in the open doubles against Willie Polanco and Pee Wee Castro but he and Joe Kaplan came just short of the slam, losing 11-9 in the tiebreaker. Tracy Davis completed a slam in the women’s events, teaming with Theresa McCourt to avenge last month’s loss to Maggie Crespo and Lori Acevedo. Josh Garcia, a talented teenager, pulled off a slam in the C singles and doubles with non-relative Ariel Garcia as his partner and final singles opponent. Graham Palmore did the same in the 65s with Tom Vitale as his partner. Read More for Final Results: (all players are from New York unless specified)

It will be a repeat final showdown in the men’s open as well when Satish Jagnandan faces Cesar Sala on Sunday.
Sala and Willie Polanco were in the middle of their semifinal when the clouds darkened and rain came down in buckets at the boardwalk near Coney Island.
Thanks to a clearing afternoon sky, some matches moved back outside in order to finish the day’s play.
In other final matches, Mike Driscoll edged Ed Grossenbacher in a two-hour tiebreaker for the 70-plus. Fanny Ruan withstood a strong second game from Shirley Chen to earn the women’s B singles. Nick Roman slammed in the As with Ron Flores. After taking the singles in the morning over Juned Khan, Roman and Flores beat a determined Luis Rodriguez and Saul Gonzalez.
