VENICE, Calif. – Junior handball players from across the country enjoyed the four days of handball right on beautiful Venice Beach as they finished the final day of competition with singles and doubles finals.

The 17-year-old from Brooklyn first wrangled with doubles partner Marco Lemus for the 17-Singles title, winning in two games, 21-20, 21-17.

VENICE, Calif. - Saturday's matches produced by far the most action and excitement of the tournament.
In Boy's 19-Singles semifinal action, Ricardo Ruiz was down 7-0 to Nikolai Nahorniak in the tiebreaker before he scored his first point. By making some great serves and being able to hold off matchpoint, Ruiz pulled out an 11-10 miracle to earn his spot in the final. He'll face doubles partner Armando Ortiz.
Not to be outdone by his younger sibling, Braulio Ruiz brought his "A" game to the Boy's 21-Singles final against phenom Luis Moreno. After taking the first game 21-12, Ruiz had matchpoint, and seemed on his way to the first 21-Singles 3-wall title; however, Moreno dug deep and pulled out a 21-20 win.
In the third set, Ruiz finished the match, 11-0 for the championship.
