Brian Carroll reacts after winning match point.

CANOGA PARK, Calif. - Team scores were finalized Saturday night, and Lake Forest and Southwestern University won the Division 1 and 2 titles, respectively.  Missouri State won the Men's Team Title, while Lake Forest won the Women's Team Title, giving them the overall best score.

Gene McCormick's Southwestern team won their first Team title as Western Washington finished second.

Brian Carroll earned a repeat spot in the Men's final with an 11-7 tiebreaker win over Chip Morales.  Carroll won the first game, but Morales came back to win the second 21-14. After losing to Ricardo Diaz in the 2006 final, Carroll hopes to change his fortunes in '07

Luis Moreno erased a 4-7 deficit to win 11-8 and get the first spot in the Open final.  After Iglesias took the first game 21-10, Moreno came back with a 21-12 victory to force the third set.

Emear Ni Fhalluin defeated Emer Coyle, 4, 6 and Maria Daly beat Carly Stickles, 7, 7, so we have an all-Irish Women's Final.

Pacific University's Alfredo Herera zeroes in on a ball off the backwall as DIT's Brian Carroll waits to return.  Carroll won the round of 16 match in two games.
CANOGA PARK, Calif. - As balls carreened off the walls in the Spectrum Club's courts, players pressed up against  the glass backwalls and enthusiastically cheered on their teammates.  Brian Carroll continued his run as he ousted Pacific's Alfredo Herrera.  Herera played well and impressed the gallery with some incredible shots, but Carroll's experience proved too great an obstacle for any chance at an upset.  Carroll went on to win, 21-12 and 21-9.

As play continued on Saturday, many matches went to tiebreakers, and one of the day's most exciting was between the 8 and 9 seeds in the Open division.  The no. 9 seed pulled off the upset, but not by much.

Pacific's Aaron Garner and Mo. State's Eric Hillgren duked it out for three games before Garner was able to finish match-point, edging Hillgren,  (10-21), 21-12, 11-10.

In the women's singles, Emear Ni Fhalluin continued her dominant run as she now has only yielded three points for the entire tournament.

Aside from George Watson getting bumped out by UCD's John Horgan, there were no major upsets as all the top seeds rolled in their preliminary matches. Brian Carroll, Luis Moreno, Jon Iglesias, and Chip Morales all handled their first round matches with ease. The top-4 seeds in women’s action, also advanced.

In doubles action, Mike Mehilos and Kevin Jarvis of Lake Forest were up 2-1 in the tiebreaker over UNF's Kyle Greenhalgh and Kent Grandy when Mehilos sustained a knee injury and defaulted the match.  Unfortunately, Mehilos also had to withdraw from the singles play.
