2005 USHA National One-Wall Championships

Satish Jagnandan became first player to successfully defend his singles title since Ed Maisonet in 1996 by defeating Pee Wee Castro in two games on Sunday. Satish got off to a great start on Sunday with his serve and then found the groove again in the second to win in two games.

Tony Roberts and Robert Sostre kept Rookie Wright and Dave Rojas in the role of bridesmaids in the Open doubles, holding on for an 11-9 win in the final.

Anderson Pelaez will be joining the B ranks next year as he slammed in the C singles and doubles with John Mantilla.

Tom Vitale slammed in the 65 singles and doubles with Artie Reyer as his partner. Joe Agosto came close to the slam in the 50s, winning the singles and falling just short in the doubles to Mike Grabowski and Ray Clark. Though no upset, it was a big win for Grabowski. Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis two months ago, Mike could barely get out of bed until he got the right diagnosis and on the right medication. “I’ve got a ways to go but this is a great feeling to be playing handball again,” Grabowski said.
