Springfield, Mo., - Megan Mehilos (Lake Forest) made history becoming the first player (Men's or Women's) to sweep the singles and doubles titles in all four years of her eligibility. Mehilos beat Courtney Peixoto (Arizona) in the singles and teamed with Samantha England to take the Women's Doubles title.

Cabrillo College's Emmett Peixoto defeated DIT's Dessie Keegan in the tiebreaker of the Men's Singles, 20, (19), 7. The win was Peixoto's first singles title (2003 Men's Open Doubles - Portland). The loss denied Keegan his third straight title, but he played an instrumental part in earning DIT their first Men's Team title.

The Men's Doubles title went to Sligo-IT's team of Joe McCann and Noel McHugh; who wanted to thank their coach Seamus Duffy. Coach Duffy was unable to attend, but the doubles champs credited him for their win and wanted to thank him for his support and encouragement.

A new champion hoisted the trophy at the 52nd USHA National Collegiate Champioships held at Southwest Missouri State. SMSU, the host school, claimed the Combined Collegiate Championship and was honored during Saturday’s Collegiate Handball Banquet.

Dublin Institute of Technology became the first college outside of the U.S. to claim a team title by wrapping up the Men's Championship on Saturday.

Lake Forest clinched the Women's Championship after play on Sunday with wins in singles play.

Miami University - Ohio claimed the Division II Title in only their second year of existence.

The University of Arizona’s Matt Berzins and Western Washington’s Becca Briggs received the National Collegiate Sportsmanship Award, and The University of Minnesota’s Molly Tilleson and Edie Kowalkowski were awarded the Sabo Scholarships.
